Point Inspection
This product was designed specifically for the medical industry. It inspects the point of the cannula in order to determine whether the point was damaged during handling.
A damaged point can cause higher resistance and forces as the cannula punctures the patient's skin. The larger force values translate directly to a larger level of pain for the patient.
Avtex has 2 different approaches to accomplish this inspection. One approach involves a side-looking camera that inspects the point for bends and hooks as seen in the picture on the right. The other approach involves a down-looking camera that uses a very unique lighting method. This lighting method creates an area of light that the camera "sees". The size of the area is correlated to the amount of damage involved.
