SLIM-100
SEQUENTIAL-NUMBERING LABEL INSPECTION MACHINE
The SLIM-100A performs 100% label verification to ensure the sequentially numbered printed characters are legible and correct.
The SLIM-100A is automatic, 100%, fast, accurate, reliable and eliminates human- error; this means getting the highest yield from your manufacturing process. No other system can match the reliability of the Avtex system which utilizes machine vision technology, or a computer that can see. The machine employs state-of-the-art technology including solid-state camera and light, industrial optics, rugged fixture, computer with Artificial Intelligence in the form of a sophisticated computer program, or software algorithm.
The Machine works with an integrated camera, with its own lighting, focused on the subject label from a fixed position above the label. As each and every new label passes under the camera a sensor is triggered and a digitized image is acquired. Then a sophisticated computer algorithm called OCV (Optical Character Verification) analyzes and extracts quantitative information on the label printed by a video Jet printer. Each character (number or letter) on the label is interpreted or inspected. As the numbers on each label change in sequence, the machine automatically adjusts and inspects for the correct new character. The quality of each character is inspected for flaws including clearness, contrast, shape, location and sharpness. If there is a flaw, or a label is printed out of sequence, the printing machine is automatically shut down. The PC included with the system displays a real time image of the inspection in, and stores the failed images for analysis. On the factory floor a line operator is able to configure and control the inspection, e.g., start and stop an inspection process, enter the data for each customer through this interface. The operator interface consists of a push button to start the inspection; graphic dialog boxes and pull-down menus all displayed on a monitor and accessed through a keyboard, mouse or touchscreen. Pass/fail results, the actual images of the label and spreadsheet data can all be graphically displayed on the monitor and automatically transferred and stored to an Excel spreadsheet, and then printed out.
